Fitness for the Summer
Everyone is always excited for the summer - it’s my favorite season. Children are out of school on vacation and excited to go splash around on the beach. Summer is prime time for vacation. It is also prime time for fitness. There are many fun ways to work out during the summer without having to go to the gym.
If you are sporty you can play soccer (yay World Cup!), volleyball (beach volleyball is one of my favorite outdoor activities during the summer), baseball, or kickball, for example. There are so many options. For those who do not love chasing a ball, there are also a variety of ways to get outside and exercise: go for a hike, take a run along the river/ocean, or take a swim in a pool. Exercising is critical to staying healthy. Make sure to do so properly and to ask a physician if you have any questions about something new or what is healthy vs too risky for your body. Something as simple as walking 30 minutes a day can do the trick to make you a healthier and happier person.
Too hot outside? No problem!
You can also workout at home. Squats, push-ups, and crunches are doable if you lack the space and/or gym equipment. If you lack the knowledge to create a workout for yourself don't worry! You can easily google workouts online or download workout apps (they can be a lot of fun if you find the right ones). Workout Trainer by Skimble is an excellent fitness app that provides you with thousands of free programs. Another method if you are willing to invest is workout DVDs. Beach body is a great company that has developed programs, each with their own nutrition plan, such as P90X, Insanity, 10 Minute Trainer, T25, and many more. There are even yoga classes online now. Thank you, internet!
The hardest part to any workout is starting. So don't be afraid to do so. Know that you can do it!
To health, long life, and living naturally,
